CatsandKittensNI is a site dedicated to adopting and rehoming cats and kittens in Northern Ireland.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
User Accounts
If you choose to register for the site in order to place an ad or mark favourites, we require a username, and your email address. This is to enable you to log into the site and use the services, and to receive emails from site visitors who are interested in adopting your cat.
Additional Ad Information
We ask for your town location so that visitors know where you are. Additionally you can choose to mark your location on Google Maps. We also ask for your phone number so that visitors may contact you. Your number will be obscured until clicked on by a visitor to fully reveal it, to protect against bots.
Media
When you upload images to the website when placing an ad, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with
We do not share your data with anyone, but we must make it clear that by contacting someone who posts an ad on this site that you are voluntarily sharing information with them.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
RIGHT TO ACCESS:
You have the right to access the data we hold about you and for you, and to access this information in a common machine readable format, free of charge. We will process your request without undue delay and at the latest within 1 month.
RIGHT TO RECTIFY:
You can rectify or update any information we have by emailing info@catsandkittensni.co.uk
RIGHT TO ERASE:
You have the right to erase any data we hold about you on our system. If you would like to do so please contact us at info@catsandkittensni.co.uk – but please note we may be required to keep certain information to adhere to the law. We will make you aware of which data this includes and why we are required to keep it.
RIGHT TO OBJECT:
CatsandKittensNI does not use your details for marketing purposes except to contact you directly about your account or ads. However if we chose to do so in future as a legitimate business interest, you have the right to object to us using your data for marketing purposes.
